Rusinoff's Osmotic Oscillator for monitoring of concrete destruction under salt corrosion.
3-D stations of Rusinoff's Osmotic Oscillator for monitoring of temperatures, moistness, and deformations into the concrete specimens during of hydration, hardening, maturing of concrete and self destruction under any aggressive medium.
2-D stations of Rusinoff's Osmotic Oscillator for monitoring of temperatures, moistness, and deformations into the concrete specimens during of concrete self destruction under the salt aggressive medium.
Indicator with three functions for calibrated measurements of temperature, moistness, and deformations into the concrete specimens.
The self healing effect was first determined by indicator, when moistness and deformations came to the lower point into particular concrete specimen.
Tower for calibration of temperature, moistness, and deformations, where also provided monitoring of the exothermic entropy.
Cross section of funnel where the effect of osmotic threshold was predicted. If funnel placed into the concrete of outside wall on the depth of seasonal freezing with wide side directed to outside, then all interporous concrete moist will move inside the wall. Therefore, during of seasonal freezing that wall will not suffer of freeze-thaw cycles destruction.
Preparation of wall specimen. The wooden mold for concrete casting with one shown funnel on the depth of seasonal freezing.
Three functions indicators are placed on a strings across wall specimen to monitor migration of interporous moist under the outside temperature changes.
Twelve funnels were placed there to cover outside area. The bottom of this mold is an outside surface of future wall specimen.
Prepared wall specimens are placed in a bath with water for superficial saturation before freeze - thaw procedure.
Even under the day-night changing temperatures in a room, the specimen with funnels absorbed four times more water (see at right) than control specimen.
 Visual difference is obvious.
Freeze - thaw camera for freezing of the wall specimens from the surface only.
The windows are designed to provide freezing of wall specimens from the surface only.
Special stands on a rails were designed to provide contact of outside surfaces of wall specimens with windows of freeze - thaw camera.
It was found that after a year of everyday cycles no changes has been made with cementitious matrix of wall specimen with funnels.
The control specimen showed tremendous changes of deformations into concrete on the depth of targeted freezing.
